When a new meeting request arrives in your outlook inbox, sniffer marks it in the outlook calendar as tentative appointment, so you will get a reminder for that request even if you forget to accept/reject the meeting request.
I cannot get calendar invites from my Windows 10 Outlook 2016 client connected to Exchange 2010 to be received with Accept Tentative & Decline options at an Hotmail / Outlook.com mailbox. An email is received but is not recognised as a calendar invite. If I create the appointment / calendar invite via the Outlook Web Access (OWA) the functionality works as expected with Accept Tentative & Decline options received. I have tried the following to no avail. + Send as HTML + Send as Rich Text Format (RTF) + Attached as iCalendar (attachment is received but Outlook.com doesn't recognise it) + Attached as vCalendar (attachment is received but Outlook.com doesn't recognise it) + Disabled anti-virus and repeated tests Thank you in advance, AjN3806. I deleted all contact records of the recipient and recreated a single contact record with the Hotmail / Outlook.com email address and that has resolved the problem. A useful article helped me check what format the new contact would receive emails from my Outlook 2016.
I applied the Outlook 2016 registry adjustment. HKEYCURRENTUSER Software Microsoft Office 16.0 Common Contactcard 'turnonlegacygaldialog'=dword:00000001.which now allows you to double click a contacts email address to confirm the format was the default 'Let Outlook decide the best sending format' Why on earth easy access to that dialog has gone is beyond me!:-s I wish I had found this registry fix years ago! I'm wondering if the problem was created initially by the recipients other email address being for a company I used to also work at and often after leaving a company often your contacts email addresses from that company no longer work.
